jousting is soooo amazing
I would love to bend your ear for advice, I love your shots! I photograph a joust every year at my local festival. This shot is stunning!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments! Basically just keep photographing EVERYTHING and you learn as you go <3
It his lance shattering, or was it built to bend that way to keep from shattering and possibly killing someone with the flying debris of death?
a little bit of both I think. They do take their jousting VERY seriously, and these two purposely tilted at each other to break lances Really amazing to watch!
It is amazing. The only thing about jousting is that you should be strongly prepared to charge and try not to feel shy and scared when jousting.
that is an awsome shot and really cool
is it hard to walk around in that armor?
As someone who fights in full plate, its not that heavy. A well made suit made for you will feel near weightless as it is distributed all through out the harness on your body.
oooh that is neat! Thank you for sharing!
Oh i see, never thought of it like that.
Basically, a modern infantrist carries the same weight in equipment and weapons as a soldier in full plated used to do. The difference is, the full plate's weight was distributed all over the body so you'd be able to go longer with it on. It did restrict some movements to some degree though, but not quite as much as one would expect. Probably the main disadvantage (talking about comfort) is probably the weather. If it's very hot, a full plate armour with a thick doublet/gambeson/aketon underneath will not be the most comfortable thing you ever did.
they seem pretty mobile, it is just really heavy! I'm sure getting onto their horses is tricky!
